About This Plant

A sparkling color display on a petite shrub. Bubbly Wine weigela is a variegated selection of Fine Wine weigela with a compact mounded habit. This little shrub boasts vibrant yellow and green foliage and deep burgundy stems. In spring, it’s dotted with pink trumpet-shaped flowers that attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. While pollinators enjoy this little shrub, deer don’t seem to bother it. Thanks to its compact habit, Bubbly Wine weigela tucks perfectly into many gardens in mixed borders, low hedges, or even in containers. Bubbly Wine Weigela florida was discovered by the plantsman Jeff Good of Southeast Michigan.
